Is my Enlarging Our Tent giving in addition to my regular tithe?

Yes. We are asking each person who attends Valley Hi Assembly of God Church to give “over and above” his or her regular tithe. The tithe is used to operate the church and the various ministries. This is a commitment based on revelation from God by faith, through prayer and not by reason alone.

How Should I give?

There are several ways to give. Give a cash gift. Make a 36-month faith promise. Give stocks or securities. Deferred contribution through an estate gift. Ask God for creative ways to increase your gift. Involve your whole family in raising specific amounts for your offering.

Will my contribution be made public?

No. Only the church financial treasurer is aware of individual amounts pledged and given. Those amounts will not be shared.

Will I have the opportunity to revise my commitment?

Yes. You can increase or decrease your commitment as circumstances warrant during the campaign.

Will new members be given the opportunity to make a commitment?

Yes. In fact, we encourage it.

Can assets other than cash be committed to this giving opportunity?

Yes. Major gifts in the form of investment securities, real estate, or other tangible assets can be committed to Enlarging Our Tent. In fact, there may be favorable treatment under current tax laws to appreciate assets. Please contact the church treasurer if this is something you desire to do or if you want more information.
